BRIDGE OF HOPE CENTER
Building a safe place for growing numbers of homeless women and children in the Bay Area
Building a safe place for growing numbers of homeless women and children in the Bay Area
Homelessness in the Bay Area is increasing. Since 2020, there’s been a 43% increase in the San Francisco Bay Area. Homelessness won’t stop increasing.
So we’ve made a commitment:
While more women are losing their jobs and income.
While more women are escaping domestic violence at home.
While more women are caring for their families alone.
You can help build a safe home at our Bridge of Hope Center for the growing numbers of homeless women and children in the Bay Area.
We were forced to turn away 3,500 vulnerable women and children last year because we didn’t have beds for them. We didn’t even have the space to put mats on the floor. It broke our hearts to turn away any woman and child, but our current shelter was at capacity 341 nights out of the year.
Our new Center will offer 114 new emergency and long-term beds.
That’s a total of 210 beds for homeless women and children!
Having a safe, nurturing environment allows these women to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty through:
● Classes and counseling that heal broken lives
● Job-skills training, including our culinary arts programs
● Programs for children that focus on their education and
emotional well-being
● Discipleship programs based on biblical teachings and principles
This completes the third phase of our total building project:
Phase 1: Alma Calton Learning Center for women and children – completed 2018.
Phase2: Upgrade to Kitchen for Women and Children – completed 2019.
Phase 3: Bridge of Hope Center.
